5 Bible Study Tips

1. Pray
Ask God to guide you as you read. Your prayer doesn’t have to be fancy. You might just pray: "Help me, God to discover You and Your will as I read my Bible."

2. Read
Read a devotion and the Bible passage related to it. If the passage is not clear the first time you read it, read it again. Also check out the introduction at the beginning of the book that helps you understand the book’s purpose.

3. Think
Think about the questions listed in the devotion. It may help to ask yourself: What’s going on in the passage? How is the world similar or different than it was then? Hoe does the passage fit into my faith?

4. Do
What is god saying to you through this passage? What changes or new directions does the passage call for? Decide what you can do to respond to the truth in the passage, and do it. It could change your life.

5. Ask
If a passage confuses or bothers you, talk to someone about it. Ask a parent, youth leader, pastor
or trusted friend to help you understand.
